Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT) is often the lesser known therapy profession. However, it may well be not as well heard of as our Physiotherapy counterparts, but we find that the majority of our client’s who receive Physiotherapy input, also benefit from Occupational Therapy input too, as their mobility/physical needs impact so much on their ability to function and be independent. As we are one team who work closely together, the benefits are that you can a combined/holistic therapy input combining multiple therapies if you need it. 

OT is pivotal in helping you live your best life by focusing on enhancing your independence and quality of life, our team empowers you to overcome challenges. As a result, you’ll find yourself more engaged in activities that matter most to you. From washing independently to accessing local shops and managing work fatigue, our experienced therapists are here to support you every step of the way.

Moreover, our Occupational Therapists work with adults recovering from Stroke, Brain Injury, and other Neurological conditions. Additionally, we also support in aiding those dealing with Falls, Dementia, Long Covid, post-surgery and various long-term conditions. 

We can also support with urgent assessments in order to prevent unncessary hospital admissions and can work with your social worker and care provider to support you to live your optimum life at home. 

All visits are carried out within your own home, unless otherwise discussed (on some occasions, online sessions can be appropriate). 

Our Treatment Methods




  • Practising chosen activities to boost confidence and improve technique. 


  • Trialling adaptive methods for increased independence.



  • Advising about and/or practise using appropriate aids / equipment.


  • Establishing your unique goals and discussing / advising / planning how these will be achieved.



    • Practical based exercises to achieve upper limb strength and function.


    • Making care plans to share with your carers or our senior Rehabilitation Assistants – so that you get a consistent therapy approach from everyone involved in your care. 



  • Support and education on condition specific management techniques such as Fatigue Management theory and strategies.



  • Cognitive rehabilitation – assessment of cognitive difficulties and retraining/implementing strategies to help improve your memory and function.



  • Vocational rehabilitation – returning and supporting your return to work/employment.
  • Accessing the community such as practise using a mobility aid/scooter, going shopping or accessing in / out of a car.
